KENYA’S DATA PROTECTION LAWS (2019)
The Data Protection Act of 2019 was enacted on 25th November 2019 and Data Protection Regulations followed in January 2022. The law seeks to protect the processing of personal data without the consent of the data owners/data subjects. Commencing 14th July 2022,entitities that process PERSONAL DATA are require by law to register with the Data Protection Commissioner.
Therefore, any entity: private or public with Human resource function, will be required to comply with this law. International PFM Academy has developed a program aimed at sensitizing management personnel and HODs on the protection of personal data including an understanding of principles of Data Protection, legal obligations including registration with the Data Protection office.
The program is most relevant to; Management level, including CEOs , Directors, HRMs and HODs of Public/Private entities. Individual responsible for Cyber security management in organizations
